So i have this brand new loadmaster sitting at my house that i cant mount because i refuse to notch my bench. The ram hits the side of my bench. I need something/ some way to mount is so it over hangs the edge at leat a quarter in or i need to use an ultra mount. Any suggestions?

Mount it to a longer board and mount the board to the bench to get the offset you want.

The longer board idea will work. Can't tell with out pic of your bench but sounds like using lag bolts in front might work. Definitely follow Lees warning to use bolts to mount it good and solid. When I had mine the bench it was mounted to was only .75 plywood do I put a support leg right under the press to stiffen it up that worked out good. FB

The one pic of left side was while under construction. Thats where i want to put loadmaster. Under the lyman press is a 2x12 on bottom of 3x4 maple ply for reinforcement

Now that's a nice bench! I think lag bolts in the front would be just fine as long as they centered up in the 2X4. You also might check with "Pat Marlin" here onsite he was making a press mounting system that may be a good option. FB

I was looking at the rock dock from pat marlin and the ultra mount from inline fabrication. the ultra mount would work well but i do not know if it will lift my press up too high (9 3/4") for sitting in my chair lol.

thanks for the compliments on my bench. i used to reload in the garage and got permission to move into the climate controlled house and built a custom bench in what used to be a makeshift study lol. im loving every moment of it.

i do also have some 3/4 maple left over. i could make a base of double thickness that the press land through bolt the front 2 holes and then the back hole can through bolt the base and the bench and then additional through bolts on the bench for the base. this may work well. im not too worried about a super quick press change lol. i have found myself using press mounted lee push through sizers although i do have a rcbs lubrimatic that i have never used lol. i could always clamp those down if i need them

Depending on how high your bench is, whether you want to reload standing or sitting, chair or stool etc; you could build a "strong mount" to mount your press on. I've seen a couple that folks have made from wood that were really nice. I think that would make a nice addition to your bench. Nice, by the way.. I've made them from steel and the current one I use is 6' long and I have all my presses mounted on it. Just make sure it's tall enough for the ram to clear the bench in the down position, If I remember correctly the LM would be about 10 inches, one inch to short makes a lot of difference here....yes that's experience talking...[smilie=s:
