I was going to order some surplus ammo from Aimsurplus for my CZ 52 in 7.62x25 the first thing "CZ52 9mm conversion barrel 49.95". Anyone do this to theres? I was thinkin about buying the Spam can of 7.62x25 ammo for $120 but might cut back and get the 9mm barrel also. From what I read it drops in with no modifcations, uses the same mags but there is some feeding issues (not a carry gun anyways).

My dad and I have buckets and buckets or range 9mm brass and I have the lee 120gr TC mold so I would be set, along with all the dies and stuff that we have.

Again I was going to be spending 120 bucks on 7.62x25 ammo, so I drop that back to $50 worth of ammo and $50 worth of barrel. I think I have myself talked into it already.

Sounds like a plan. A good plan at that. I don't think you'll find much 7.62X25 brass laying about the range, but 9mm is very easy to come by. Try it and tell us what you think.

I have a Norinco 213 that I have the 7.62 and 9mm barrel for. Each uses a different mag however. I do have several mags for each caliber. The 9mm barrel also works in my TT-33 (polish). Point of aim is a little different between 7.62 and 9mm. I do use cast boolits only in these guns. Mark

My CZ-52 came with a 9mm barrel and I haven't had any problems with it. I only just recently picked up a 7.62x25 barrel for it.

These barrels aren't exactly "drop in"in spite of what AIM says. If you compare the barrel in the picture to the barrel in your CZ52 you'll see that the AIM barrel is short some parts and you will have to take them your barrel and put them on the AIM barrel. I think you'll need 2 rollers, a pin and whatever they call the part that goes over the barrel.

I saw this discussed earlier today on the CZ Forum. If you can get the parts you could set your 9mm barrel up with the needed parts and then you could switch back and forth in a minute or so. Makarov.com seems to be the place to get CZ parts and several on the forum said they are out of the rollers.

I was looking for some parts at Makarov.com and saw a notice that they just got in 100 9mm barrels for the CZ52. These barrels have the rollers and cam installed so they really are "drop in". The price is $79.00. They don't expect any more for about a year.

I ordered the barrel and 500 rounds of 7.62x25 ammo. What I think I am going to do is either find another CZ52 and convert it, or just get a top end and have to one set up normal and the other 9mm.

Probably just get the top end, if I can find one cheap enough.

Check with Makarov dot com. They used to carry the 9mm barrels for the CZ52. They also used to carry the barrel parts- rollers, cams, etc. I have a ported 9mm barrel and I shoot 9mm +P+ rounds with no problems except for not being able to find the brass. You don't want to be standing on the shooters right side when he touches on off. The barrels will drop right in but you may have to do some polishing to get a reliable feed. Remember the firing pins are very fragile-- DO NOT DRY FIRE without a snapcap or you will be replacing the FP.

when the gun was being designed, both 9mm and 7.62x25 were evaluated....

the bottom line was the 9mm version was not as reliable as the 7.62x25....

and thus we have a cz-52 in 7.62x25 from the folks in cz land....

i would be cautious with any hot 9mm loads in these guns.....go look at how little material there is at the end of the chamber on a 9mm.

i did not say you could not get one to work.....but me thinks there are way too many 9mm's on the market to take a nice 30 and change to a 9....

CZ52 to 9mm, I need to look into that myself. The CZ52 I have is a nasty little thing to shoot, but a blast all the same. I also now have a Kel-Tec PF-9, and plan to shoot it each weekend until I get 500 rounds on it.

Please post how it all works out for you.

I just installed the 9mm barrel assembly from Makarov.com on my
CZ52 and it works great. Accurate, reliable and shoots about 1" high
and 1" right --- only problem is that I only tested about 30 rds at
the 12 yd range, so not much proof on accy and pt of aim. It was
100% reliable. I did polish the front face of the extractor as recommended
in the instructions. Easy to swap back and forth.

Makarov.com gets $80 for thier barrel with hardened rollers and the locking
cage thingie, so the assy is a "drop in"

Were you able to find any of your fired brass? My '52 slings the brass so far it's all but impossible to find.
