I have a few pieces of .30 carbine brass that has the headspamp: WMN 59 7.62 x 33. I have never seen this headstamp before. Can anyone tell me who made it?

Apparently the 3 letters should be NWM for:

Nederlandsche Wapen-en Munitiefabriek

Netherlands Weapon & Munitions factory.

Are they boxer or berdan primed?

It's boxer primed, military brass, with a crimped and sealed primer.

There were several runs of 30 carbine ammo made in the '60s for covert missions in SEA and central America. They all had phoney headstamps. They do turn up occasionally stateside. Don't know if the one you have is one of those but you never know.......until someone gets a positive ID on it.

There was some 30-06 made up with cxn and bxn headstamps during the bay of pigs operation. They were made like that soas to not allow any traceability of that ammo back to the mother country. Some yeras back I found a guy merrily banging away with his garand and when I saw the headstamp I explained the story behind that particular headstamps. Frank

7,62x39 with no head stamp was also produced.
Got some used brass from a range at Ft Knox back then.

I believe that is correct also. We had some pretty wierd headstamped 9mm stuff in SEA back in the day. We thought it was covert ammo also but wit the myrid places the 9mm has been made we didn't know for sure.
