Anybody using Unique with Ranch Dog boolits? I'd like to hear about it. I'm shooting revolvers and Marlin levers in .357/38, .44 mag/spc, and in 30-30 and 45-70, so I'm especially interested in general purpose/target/plinking loads for those. Thanks.

7.5-8 in 30-30. FB is 184 gr., same accuracy as GCd, 4" @ 50.Lite loads of LeverR or H4895 worked better for me.

9.0-10.0 in .44 mag, 7.5 max in .44 Spl.

Around 15 gr in .45-70 works well.

I just loaded up 20 rounds of the 265gr PB with 10gr of unique and 30 rounds of the same bullet with 20gr of MP-300 powder to try in my 24" cowboy 1894 and my 20" 1894. Looking forward to see how these loads perform.

10 gr of unique is my go-to load for my accurate molds 43-260V cast bullet in 629 handguns, performs well in my 1894 cowboy but doesn't cycle well due to the extra length and huge meplat.

I have seen alot of suggested loads for 10 gr for the 30-30. My Win M94 likes 7 gr for 50 yds. I do have to try it for 100.

I've used 8-10 gr in the 30-30.

I've used 9 grains Unique with the plain based RD 265 and it's a great plinking round. On the gas checked side of the mold, I'll use Lil'Gun just a bit under his max load data. Great bullet and it'll smack the 'ol steel gong nicely!

RD 432-265, 10gr Unique in a H&R 444 Marlin. Super fun backyard plinker in rural south Mississippi. Don't have a chrono so don't know velocity, but judging from time between "BANG" and "SMACK" on a steel plate at 40 yards speed is slower than a 22 long rifle.

Test results below. 22grains looks good in both rifles.
