Some generous donor at the range left behind 60 pcs of once fired Winchester .270 win brass.:drinks:

I don't have a .270 Win:(

Can I franken size it up to 30-06[smilie=1:

I gooooogled it but could only come up with turning -06 into .270, 25-06 and others.

Yes, you can expand .270 shells to .30-06. They are likely to be a little long and may need to be trimmed.

Long and thin in the necks sometimes. Depends on the particular lot of brass and how small your chamber neck is in the .30-'06. It's nice to be able to trim them to fit the chamber, most '06 brass needs a couple of firings before it's close to the end.

You can but the case will be ~1mm long once its resized. I use mine to make other calibers (7.7 Jap is 58mm long so its an easy trim back to fit from 270Win's 64mm length. 30-06 cases are 63mm in length.

The necks thin out some, my experience, and work well for paper patch.

Good to here this.
I want to shoot them in my 1917 eddystone rifle.
I went out and bought 50 pcs of new brass when I bought the rifle.
The 270 looked longer and I can trim them.

I necked up some new/unfired R-P 30-06 brass to 35 Whelen and lost the first few to split necks, after I annealed the rest everything went smoothly. Just a thought.

60 pickup range brass. That seems like a good excuse to salvage it by buying a .270, dies, molds, and a couple of sizers...
