What is currently out there for this caliber? My dad has an older lever action rifle that he hasn't touched in years because he only has about 100 rounds loaded with the 227 bullets he managed to get his hands on at a while back. Seems like it would be a great thing to cast for with gas checked bullets.

Anybody played with this one in the past and if so, what were your results? Any molds you'd recommend or stay away from if you could do it again?

If you would like to try some boolits from the RCBS mold for the 22 HP we have that one available.

I use the RCBS mould and it works well for me.

I'm sure either LBT or Mountain Molds could provide you with whatever you want.

Hate to use the J word but harnady still makes a 70 gr .227SP.

I see that hornady makes them but, unfortunately, I've been bitten by this damn casting bug. Now there must be a mold available for anything I might care to shoot. I might get a hundred of the RCBS bullets and see how they work before sinking the $100+ into that mold.

Unfortunately? Wrong choice of words in think. Ask Santa to bring you one for Christmas if you can wait that long.

Bernie at http://www.oldwestbulletmoulds.com/ has one. He emailed pics but they were saved to and lost on an older computer. I never did find a 22 Savage Hi-Power after I got outbid and ended up not needing the mould. I can testify Old West are good moulds, but never played with that particular design. I was sent a few sample of 38 bullets from him once, you may be able to get a few .228's from him as well.

Just needs a few more people before the run is scheduled.

I have a 1899 takedown in 22 HP. What do you have?
