Does the Winchester 94 have differant styles of the lever?
Seen a real nice set of wood on the Macon Gun Stock site that is a pistol grip configuration and was wondering if i would have to change the lever on my carbine.

Yes, there have been many styles over the years. The pistol grip configuration was sometimes offered on Model 94 rifles, and was probably offered on carbines as well.

Take care, Tom

Here's a good place to start on the Winchester Model 94.

I prefer talking to old timers and hearing their huntin' stories.

I hope this helps,

You'll need more parts other than the lever. You'll need a curved lower tang, longer stock screw, and I think, a different hammer spring. I always liked a pistol grip on levers, too.

3 types that I've actually seen on models 1894 and forward into the twentieth century. Straight, pistol grip Curved, and the John Wayne or Rifleman's large loop. Have the first two here. No big looped ones though. 1873 model came offered with a lever lock for scabbard use. Not sure about the 1866 model if they came with a lock or not.

Thanks for the enligtenment on the parts needed.
Got way to expensive real quick!!

Guess my best bet now is to find an old beater and give it a face lift!!
