go with the usual suspects.
8-10 grs unique.
16-18 grs 2400.
24-30 grs 4895.
if i were going light and out to 100 yds for stuff i'd pick the 8-10 grs unique.

For really light target loads try 3 - 5 gr Bullseye.

Not really slow burning but a few years back I worked up a 30-30 plinler load with the 120 Lyman. The Boolits were shot as cast after a quick tumble lube. We drove them with 7 gr. of AA#5. They were cheep and accurate enough for the intended use. Don't know the velocity but the boys and I had loads of fun with this combo.

Sounds great guys, thanks for your help. We cast up 500 boolits today going to load them up tonight.

With the 30-30 you can load to whatever level you want from the normal loads. Go to Hodgsons data or other reliable source and pick a load that is likely to do what you want. Of the slower powders 3031 is a favorite.

didn't got to shoot them yet got side tracked with the brother in laws new sig 220. We loaded up a few hundred lyman 452460's over 4gr of clays. Hope to shoot the 30-30 in the morning, We went with 8.5 of unique by the way.

My most recent rifle acquisition (estate auction) is a well used (but solid) 1940's Win94 and for it's first trip to the range, all I had ready cast were some of these fine 311576 boolits (for my M1 Carbine). So after a quick search, I found this old thread and wanted to add my results for anybody that's interested.....
For an 80 year old rifle, I was pleasantly surprised with how it shot yesterday. Not a tack driver but I think 2-2.5 inch groups (50yds) were just fine with my first go around with this boolit. My boolits were checked, sized to .310, and lubed with Rooster Red. For this initial outing, I loaded it over 8.2gr of Unique (just because I was too lazy to fiddle with the measure to go down .2). It cycled smooth through the rifle and according to my chrony, averaged just under 1500fps. No recoil to speak of and not a trace of leading. A really pleasant and fun shooting plinker! I do plan on working up loads with other boolits (Lee 150gr, 311041, etc) but I'll definitely keep a some of these loaded just when I want to have a bit of fun (oh, I bet they would do a number on small game too).
