emmie, I would say your good to go with it mounted like that. Did you make it so you could easly lift it out of the way when adding more lead and fluxing?

I use the same setup for my smelting pot and propane burner. The bar stock isn't permanently mounted so it's easy to move out of the way. For the Lee pot, I drilled and tapped the two screw holes for a #8 screw and did something similar. The TC is connected to one of Frozone's PID's......works slick!!!

Wow not to change the subject but when I clicked on your picture to look at the setup you have (very nice by the way!!) there were like 5 "Pop ups" on imageshack!!

Well darn......I switched to imageshack b/c photobucket went to **** on me. Guess I'll try looking into something else. I guess I could use the photo storage here! Thanks for the heads up!

I doubt I'll leave the RCBS thermometer in the little pot though. Frozone's PID kit is running right at the same temp as the thermometer so it's probably just over kill. Not to mention things are a bit tight in the little Lee pot.

I used a existing screw and that is solid copper wire that I just wound around the probe. I used a crimp eyelet .

It works.

No mounting, I just stick it in the pot.
