Anyone here have, or have access to, ground with too many wild hogs on it? Sure would like to head down that way this winter and put a couple in my freezer.

You and me both! I have to raise my own hogs to shoot. I've got a 300 lb berkshire I'm putting in the freezer next week.

I am glad they are not here though it sounds like a matter of time.

Run out of PD already? Neighbor told me they now have a poison bait to solve the problem. Don't know if it's true.

A buddy of mine from Breckenridge just sent me a text today. He spotted one on his way to work this morning about 1/4 mile from his house. Went back for his gun and it was already gone. He said it was about a 200 lb pig.

I'd rather hog hunt than deer hunt.

Goto central florida, they are like cockroaches here.
A week ago I spotted 27 in one guys hay pasture. He had hunters out the next day.

Nope, not out yet. Thing is it takes too many to make a meal!

no pigs here yet , thats a good thing but it does sound like just a matter of time
I have a co worker in west TX he has taken to trapping them, the trap is simple but effective and often gets 2
i have wondered about a bigger trap but a trap that big would be a pig pen with a trip gate to close when a bunch are in
his trap gets left open a few nights with the bucket of corn in a cinder block in the middle , then after they get used to eating , the bucket trips the door when the pigs tip it over
he sets the trap whenever someone in his family is ready for more meat , he waits till the butcher is about the open calls and tells him he has 1 or 2 then pops them and takes them to the butcher.
