Age of a Win 94

I picked up a beautiful Winchester 94 in 45 Colt this week end. The Rifle looks unfired and is pristine. It has a 20" barrel. The serial Number is 62377XX. Does anyone know the date of manufacture. I looked at a lot of sites and they all stop at 1982 and the 5103249.

Your .45 Colt should be a Model 94AE with the CBS (crossbolt safety), made between Y2K (2000) & 2003, when Winchester went to the tang safety around SN 6450000.

There are NO records available for the later AE models, because when Winchester closed the New Haven plant, all production records were surrendered to BATF - and they're not talkin'.
