i need to slug a ruger blackhawk in 45colt.what is the biggest lead slug i can use ?the smallest fishing sinkers i can find measure .470

Sounds just fine with me..pound away! I have sluged many barrel with much larger pieces of lead. I have a bunch of old Alberts swaged 41 cal hangun bullets and I pound them down 30 cal rifle barrels. The excess will peal off at the muzzle.

Chargar is right!! I like the sinkers that have the hole thru the middle longways and this assures the lead doesn't spring back (giving you a true reading) once it is pushed thru the bore.

My Marlin Express .308 came in today and I pick it up tonight. After cleaning I will be slugging the bore.

thanks for the help guys. i wasnt sure how close in size to the caliber they have to be .this will be the first gun ive slugged.
