I loaded some 9mm fmj's last night. I noticed a consistent bulge in the circumference of the case. I was told its due to the taper of the case. Ok I can understand that. I started loading some tonight. I am now getting a inconsistent bulge. I can see the the bullet is not centered in the case. Is this because the profile of the seating plug doesnt match the ogive of the bullet? What am I doing wrong?

It is common also to have it "bulge" more on one side than the other, but it is a sign that your seating die isn't lined up perfect or the bullet was a little crooked when it started. If it is just barely noticable , I don't worry about it much for plinking/target ammo.

FMJ ??? Is that one of those shinny goldish colored things that looks like someone spilled copper over a perfectly good lead boolit?
