What is that metal piece on the really old bayonet scabbards that slides into the bayonet frog?
Where do I buy one?

Unfortunately, American bayonet scabbards didn't use the frog, as most foreign countries did. So the American Bayonet collector's linked page didn't name the piece in question - it is called the "Frog Stud".

We got plenty of those on the river, the legs are really good.
Most I havve seen are riveted on so I am amazed that the stud came off. What scabbard do you need one for?

Thank you for the replies.
I now know to call it a "frog stud". I need one to go on a new scabbard for my Bowie knife so I can wear it inside the waistband, the frog stud is to catch on the waistband. I don't want a belt loop because I wear suspenders rather than a belt much of the time.
