The project in question is a Martini, 26" barrel chambered for 30/40AI, gives less than 3/4" groups with 180gr Hornady j-words and H4831 powder. Starting in to cast for it using the RD311-165 TL type, I got the 3x3 mold. Gonna have to get or make some GC for that part. Need some suggestions for powders for the cast boolits, I favor mostly case full of the slower burning types, thinking mainly of ball types, especially when I start PP, which I hope is soon. Another question: according to Ranch Dog's chart the mold should give close to 180gr using WW, I am getting consistent 167-168. Not complaining, haven't even shot any yet, but if I add some pure to my WW will I get a heavier boolit? Goat

weight is not important.
consistent weight is.
my advice is to go with the paper patching if you want full velocity.
plain naked stuff can go faster but it ain't as easy as just dumping in a powder and seating a boolit on top.
if it were there wouldn't be any jaxketed bullets around.
