When you bend it, does it crackle? Pure tin will give off a crinkle type sound.

didn't crinkle, cast well in with my Lee 405 grain HB mold, bout as good as anything else I've used.

There was 12 oz of the stuff, I put it in the pot and then filled the pot with lead.

I'm going to go with bar solder. QQ-S-571 is the Federal spec for solder. The 63 leads me to believe it is 63/37 tin/lead eutectic solder.

i agree , solder , and wonderful stuff ( ok ok not as easy to figure alloy of the top of yer head as 50/50 but still ... ) !!

Colonial states or BLM/grid? Go to Google and head for South Bristol Maine, you'll see "The Gut" at the north end of Rutherford Island and the south end of the peninsula, Damariscotta river on the West and John's Bay on the east.

That's where I'm headed today.

Of course I have too much time on my hands. I'm a surveyor in Maine in a recession! Sheesh!
