Anyone have any experience with the Weatherby Vanguard in 308? I see it has a 1 in12 twist so far so good how are the bores as far as consistant dia. any luck shooting 311041 @ around 1800fps

The 1-12 twist is why I was looking at this one most others seem to be 1-10

I have one of the sub-moa models in 30-06 and its a good rifle. needs a timney but after that really quite good.

Ive owned 3 vanguards. A 243 that shoots great. A 300 wby that is a bit fussy but shoots moa with loads it likes and a 257wby that was a challange. the 257 went down the road after probably spending more money on loading components then the gun cost. All defineately did better with timney triggers floating the barrel and bedding the stock.

I recently bought a Vanguard 2 in .257 Wby. The Vanguard 2 has a different trigger than the older model and it is really outstanding. All V2s are guaranteed SubMOA.

I bought the new Vanguard last month in .338 Winchester. It shoots the promised sub-moa with Hornady 225gr SST's. A 2 1/2 pound trigger with some travel in it to start then breaks cleanly. I have the earlier model in 25-06; it needed a trigger. It shoots very nice. I'd buy another one if I want another caliber
