I had to try it on this rifle.
308 Marlin Express.
165 grain Ranch Dog Paper Patched, over 40 grains of LeverRevolution powder.
This is at 50 yards, and shoots almost to the point of aim as the factory. This shows potential, for decent groups at 100 yards.
Sorry for the links, I had trouble uploading.

Nice I wonder how it would work on 45-70?

Monge I could not find any load data on it for the 45-70. Other wise I would have had my marlin and #3 loaded uo with it.

Don't think it will work for 45-70. I used it in 30-30 with the RD165, 35 gr., just a tad low @ 50 vs corelocs. Have you tried it non-PP? I used the RD165 with 4895 in AR 308 with decent results, but haven't tried leverR yet. I think I'm about the same % CC as you. I might try to PP some of my culls, just for fun, been wanting to try that.

Just patched. I got the cast addiction, then it escalated to paper patching.

LVR powder works superb in my Marlin 336SC .32 Win Special. Pushes the RCBS 08-170 cast 182grain bullet at 2300fps with superb accuracy also.

Yes but will it work in a 45-70 at all. I've looked and can't find what it works with regardless.

Best I can tell it's best suited to 30-30, 32WS, 35Rem and their ilk. I've wanted to try it in 45-70 but haven't gotten around to it, heard it's a waste of expensive powder.

I actually talked to a Hodgdon representative earlier this week but forgot to ask him about using it in a 45-70. I am using IMR 3031, IMR 4198, or Reloader 7 at the moment for hunting loads behind Badman Bullets Cast .459 405gr bullet.

I love that 32 special. Its on my dream list of lever guns to get. I have looked for info using this powder on 45-70, but none to be found. I will be sticking to 3031 for the time being, as if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Haggway, I like the .32 Win Special too. At present I have four of the them. Two Win 94's and two Marlin 336SC's. Superb cast bullet shooters. Easiest caliber to get cast bullets to shoot great
with no muss or fuss. My target load using Alliant 2400 powder is just a wee bit more accurate than LVR but LVR really launches my cast bullets fast! My 08-170 RCBS mould casts them at 182grains with lube and gas check attached. At 2300fps, it duplicates the .300 Savage 180gr factory load!

That sound pretty sweet. Maybe we can convice marlin to make a short run from time to time for some of the older classic lever calibers.
