This is not surp powder but came here for info. I have looked through a few manuals and no big spread on different calibers for this powder.
I am curious if any of you have had good luck with this in pistol calibers.
Thanks
Jeff

BTW, another package deal, ya just don't find 16 pounds of powder for $60 very often. This came from a fellow reloader, 8 lb of Bullseye and 7 lb of HS-7. That should be a life time supply of Bullseye, lol.

This is an excellent double base powder for upper midrange loads in the pistol cases. Compare with Herco-BlueDot in the load books. ... felix

I believe that Hodgdon has just discontinued HS-7.

HS7 is one of my favorites for .357 using the 358156. IIRC about 10 grains - but you better check that against a load book. I've heard the same thing about being discontinued.

ive got a keg of hs7 and a keg of the surplus wc820 fast burning that is suppose to be loaded the same as hs7. I dont use it much. I guess ive allways just had better luck with accuracy using hs6 on the fast side of it and 2400 on the slow side.

W571=HS-7 exactly, same powder made in same plant to same specs.

They/it was discontinued recently. I hated losing it, as it makes
major .38 Super with the 158 gr bullets very safely. But I don't shoot
IPSC major .38 Super much anymore, so nevermind.

Hodgdon HS7 used to be my powder of choice for hollow based boolits in the .455" Webley, using the MK 1 case.
