Hi guys. Just a quick question about some brass I grabbed at the range. I'm not rifle reloading yet (nor a big rifle shooter yet) so I don't know what's going on with them.

On the left is 300 Win Mag and the necks are different. Why?

On the right, is 30-06. What the heck happened to these?

Thanks gang :) -Brad

The ones on the right are blanks or rifle grenade rounds. Do NOT attempt to load them.

It appears that the ones on the left have been fired in a .300 Weatherby. Looks like the rounded double radius that Wby rounds are known for.
My two cents...

Thanks you two! I'll toss all of those in my scrap pail. Even if the 300 mag rounded ones are okay to reload, I only have 5 that are like that. Thanks a bunch! -Brad

Yep, someone fired .300 Win Mag roundes in a .300 Wby. Just proves the old saying "You can't fix stupid" And no you cant reload the "blown out" cases, they will probably crush in the sizer die, as there is too much shoulder deformation.
