Social Security Administration office buys 175,000 bullets!!!

I wonder who's going to load those bullets? Or did you mean cartridges, shells, ammo, or rounds?

I hope so, this pathetic experiment called human existence has more than run its course.

and in the Arctic, the ice never did clear around Wrangell Island in the Chukchi Sea for the first time in memory while in the Antarctic the ice expanded farther north in scores of miles than it has in at least 15 years. Global cooling is coming (maybe).

It has happened before. They expected the ice to melt in the summer of 1880, it didn't.

"The ship entered the ice to the east of Wrangell Island on 6 September and, as expected, was held fast within a few days.

Jeannette remained in the ice as it drifted erratically to the northwest during the rest of 1879, all of 1880 and the first half of 1881. "

In the mid 1800's, a North American religious sect called the Millerites believed in a literal interpretation of certain Biblical prophecies, and chose a day the world would end, when Christ would return. On Oct 22, 1844, they waited in vain for the event, and dubbed that day "The Great Dissappointment". Out of that came the denomination nowadays known as the Seventh Day Adventists, who hold that it was a heavenly, not earthly event.

+1 Olevern. If the current administration is put back in, the end is going to be closer than we think.

I have studied Biblical Prophesy from a number of perspectives. I clearly see a great power of the North, a great power of the East, and a great power of the South. I see absolutely no evidence of any great power of the West.

Do we have to become a third world nation for Christ to return? I have to wonder.

The news agencies carrying the stories called them 'bullets'.
NSP64 is just being 'accurate' when he uses the same term.

The end is near? Wasn't that a sign from the 1960s? The bearded guy in a robe and sandals used to stand around holding a sign like that.

1960s to 2012, hmm, within what time frame?

It is what happens after THE END that is important.

It is what happens after THE END that is important.

I've always believed that was when the real trouble started...... [smilie=1:

The electrical storm was a hoot but hardly worthy of international news. It only happens maybe twice a year in my neck of the woods and then for about 20 minutes. Was NOT well received by the four year old and the dog. I however, loved it and stood out doors watching the lightning.

There was a documentary on the TV called 2012. There were a couple of experts in it, John Cusack and Woody Harrelson. Arcs are being built in China to ride out a flood caused by a polar shift. You have to be a politician, or scientist, or John Cusack to get on one.

How is the world going to rebuild without Sean Penn?

Rest assured the end is near. It has been near for the last 2000 years.
Many times it seems that everything was in place and it could happen at any time, but mankind prevailed in making a few good decisions in the midst of blowing eachother to pieces.
Still, I figure that soon we will get what we are waiting for (or afraid of as the case may be).
I know that day will be the most triumphant moment in history. I just hope I am alive to see it.
After all, there is no end for me.
Shoot your lead now, you can't take it with you!

Goodsteel, I much prefer your perspective to that of post #4. That one was a bit depressing, not to mention the ridiculous chart.

At the same time, I want to live my life and raise my kids with an upbeat attitude and outlook. I was exposed to a lot of end-of-the-world end-times ideas when I was growing up, and in many ways it held me back from doing something with my life for quite a while. I want to raise my kids to take on the world and do their best in life, rather than hunker down and hide while they wait for the end.

You got it fatelk. The end is going to come someday, and only God knows the hour. That is His business, not mine. My job is to do the very best I can to fight the good fight. I try to live like we have another 2000 years until that day comes, because that may be God's plan. I am ready if He returnes tomorrow, but I plan like we have another century or two. Keep your lamp trimmed, and your oil handy, but don't forget to pack a sandwich and some coffee. Savvy?
