Will a 308 Win neck sizing die work for 30-06?

Will a 308 Win neck sizing die work for 30-06? I have a full length but find it convenient to neck size, wondering if my 308 Winchester neck sizing die will do the trick on this 30-06 brass? Thanks.

if the 0/6 will go in the die without scuffing the sides of the die yeah it'll work.
i have a 30 cal n/s die i use on everything 30 cal.
and once i figured out a lot of 31 cal f/l sizers sized to 308 specs then opened the necks up with the ball expander i started doing the same thing with my n/s die.

Only trouble I've found with some such dies is that the primer punch may not be long enough.

But if you have an '06 FL die and the primer punch can swap out to the 308 NS die, then go for it....

Works if you use a seperate depriming tool or die such as the Lee universal decapper.

Why not just back your FL die out a 1/2 turn or so -- or place a thin washer under the nut so you don't have to change the setting --
06 cases, and many others, are tapered so just a small amount of clearance between shellholder and die eliminates case body sizing -

Good point and exactly how I do it, plus you get the benifit of part of the neck remaining expanded close to chamber dimension which is good for alignment. Only thing better I've found is a collet neck sizer, my 3 or 4 sets of Hornady neck sizer dies have all been sold.
