I shot 8 different brands of ammo through my Stevens 15-A today. All targets were shot with ten rounds at 25 yards. The bullet pasters are one inch square. The groups that are circled I considered useable for 'coon hunting. Taking into account the rifle is 60 years old and I'm not as steady as I used to be, some of the groups aren't too bad.

#2- Peters high velocity solid point,1255 fps

#3- Federal load no. 745, 36 gr., copper plated, hollow point, 1260 fps

#4- Winchester white box, 36 gr. copper plated hollow point, 1280 fps

#5- Winchester 37 gr., high velocity, hollow point, 1330 fps

#6- CCI Blazers, 40 gr. solid, velocity N/A

#7- Federal 36 gr., copper plated, hollow point, load no. 750, 1260 fps

#8- CCI 22-Quiet, 40 grain solid, 710 fps

#9- Federal auto match, 40 gr. solid, 1200 fps

OK how were the other 5 quiet rounds grouping? since they are off the paper. Where they close to the 5 showing? Groups I bet with all the ammo will get tighter just by shooting the gun more and getting used to the trigger and how is it on that gun might want to do a trigger job most are easy on these old bolt actions. My Marlin 80's have a 2# crisp trigger on both of them with just a spring change and honing the sear/ trigger contact area not to take off any metal just to polish it.

All conditions considered, this is the best I could turn in on the CCI 22-Quiets. I think they might work for 'coon huntin' where a quiet report would be desired. At 75 to 85 degree shots, I think the POI would be much closer to POA.

Well what you could do is just figure out how many clicks it would take to raise the group an inch and a half on the scope and if you use these just adjust the scope for these then adjust back for the regular velocity ammo. From what I can see it is pretty much in the ball park as your other groups only lower. Since I have two Marlin 80 Dl rifles the Sears branded one with a straight 4X scope is dedicated to the CCI Quiet ammo and the other Rifle with a 3x9 Sweet 22 scope is for regular ammo. So depending on what I want to use the rifle for I have two options at my disposal. I think this ammo will work fine for stealthy shots at closer ranges.
