Hey guys, I saw some 5lb round ingots in an old time hardware store. I was wondering what they are? They billed them as "pig lead" for $21.97 ea. !?

The ingots are 4-5 inches across and about 2 inches high. They have a sprue cut on the side and a US patent # cast in.

I wanted to buy one but could'nt get him down closer to market value.

Yes, that's the plain old plumbers lead used for joints on cast iron pipe. They are pretty proud of it at $4.50/lb aren't they!

WAY too much for an asking price.

Rotometals will do far better than that on the alloy of your choice.
