Anybody fooled with one of these? I have a customer that asked about trading one for some work. Seems they are listed for anywhere from $500 to $999 on Gunbroker. The work he is looking at is about $300 worth.
The cartridge is listed at 9MM and I assume rimmed any ideas on a base case that could be formed. I'm green on this so any info appreciated.

Thanks
Bob

The case is made from a 38 special. I have one, but have not done anything with it.
As in most cases condition is everything.

From the picture he showed me it appears to be in great shape, but I'm not much of a collector I'm a shooter. Do you have to thin the rims of the 38 cases? The picture that I saw of the 9MM round, the rim looked pretty thin.

Yes you have to make the rim thinner. or you can save yourself alot of trouble and buy ready made http://www.buffaloarms.com/9mm_Japanese_Revolver_Reloading_Brass_it-157915.aspx?CAT=3829

Thank you sir, I appreciate the info. The guy who owns it now is a tool and die maker so thinning the rims should be no problem. I don't think that I am interested in it but I might load some ammo for him.

Back in the 70's I made up a bunch of cases and reloaded and shot one of these for a while. I have the specs for the ammo in a notebook somewhere. They shooot like a 38 S and W Enfield revolver with a heavy trigger pull. If I remember right the bullet diameter on mie was 357 and I shot a 160 gr rond nose bullet at about 700 fps.

Manuel of cartridge conversions shows using a 158 swc.
