i was thinking it might help for me to know what you fellows happen to like on yours .
the more options i know about the better choice i can make .
i surely do wish i had the jingle to buy a herret stock for it

I use the wood grip that MRI sells (Hogue?) or used to sell on my 444. I have the same grip on my 500 Linebaugh blackhawk, but it really doesn't fit that gun very well.

So far, the stock rubber grips have been the best for me after trying the Pachmayr Decelerators that died after less than 100rds.

How do you break a pair of rubber grips? :)

Too much recoil. The metal inserts in my Pach decellerators actually cut/pushed through the rubber. I kept the receipt. They are going back to Cabela's.
I would guess that the plastic "frame" in the monogrips broke on his where the roll pin goes? Looks weak there to me.
I have a set of mongrips to play with on mine. They came off of another .475 BFR I just sold after putting the stock grips back on it.

i asked myself that very same question ... the plastic piece inside of the grip cracked into 6 pieces .
if i had bought them new i would send them back , but its hard to complain when you buy second hand .
i am glad to at least hear subsonics issue with the pachmayr as they was on my short list .
the more i look at the more i think i should put the uncle mikes panels back on and save up for the herrets

Still got a 475 or are you going 500 only for a while?

I'm keeping both. The .475 I got the grips from was a short-timer.

I know you have seen the pics before of it, but why not get some made like I did for my 475?

The best part is how thin they are. Lets you get a better grip on the revolver.

I didn't know there were so many options. The stock rubbers didn't work well for me, I didn't like the bulk or the checkered pattern left on my hand. Maybe my hands are too small for the rubbers. I bought the BFR micartas. Way too expensive in my book, but the gun is a piece of cake to shoot with them. Now I have a dot scope on it, too. With the extra weight and the smooth grips I can shoot that .454 as much as my pocket can afford.

I blame that on them bogus slugs I had loaded in it :)
And it wasn't even the 26gr load!
Some of those cheap leather gloves with the fingers cut out cured that issue.
Do you have to send your grip frame to Herretts? I asked them last year about stocks for my 500S&W and they replied that they do not make stocks for BFR's. Maybe something changed?

well that could throw a monkey wrench in my plans for sure .
i havent realy dug that deep into it yet , the thought that they didnt make them for bfr's never crossed my mind .
i may have to find other options then
