I am looking for a shooting bench that I can take out to where I shoot at.

I am not sure if I should buy, or build one.

Any suggestions?

If home made, it needs to be light enough to move alone, and able to fold would be better.

Well,, I made a few, some I sold,,some were begged & borrowed or stole.

I started with a cheap folding galvanized sawhorse like so...

No,,that is not my regular bipod btw, just a field expedient answer for the pics.
All you need is a couple pieces of scrap plywood and a couple screws, some paint to make the plywood weatherproof and a folding chair to set alongside.

This is mine, I've had it about 18 years and it has served me well. The legs fold under for a total folded height of about 6.5". The leg at the back that is angled adjusts for uneven ground and the total weight is probably not more than 15 lbs. People that have used it remark about how steady it is for such a lite weight bench.
