I have somewhere around 700lbs pure lead - a little over 100 smelted - but no wheel weights.
I've been shooting pretty low velocity & BP mostly, so pure lead/leading hasn't been an issue.
But next Season is looking like 99+% positive for me to use my .357 on deer locally, so I want to work up some loads from my C358-180 group buy mould and from my Lyman 158 Keith mold.
I was pretty disappointed in the 180 in WW when I shot my PA deer with it last year. Yes, there was full penetration at 100yds, but from the wound channel(s) there couldn't have been much mushrooming at all.
How fast can I push a pure lead GC bullet without it comingg apart/grossly leading?
What percentage WW to Pb would make the kind of boolit I'm looking for?
I've got to start scrounging WWs to ingotize...
