Confirmed today that in about 2 months the availability of Jamison brass will be back. All the former Jamison employees have signed on with the new company that is operating out of Rapid City SD called Cap Tech.
They are setting up the equipment now, and working on a new website . So standby oh yee shooters of obscolete stuff, new brass is once again coming available:drinks:

Thought I`d buy some of their .416 Taylor brass just so I`d have some with the correct headstamp of caliber. Then I saw they want $35 for 20 cases! That`s a bunch for just necking down a .458 Win. mag. case and stamping the case head! Guess I`ll be making my cases out of Hornady basic mag. brass for quite a while to come.Robert

Greetings
Been shooting thier 50-95 Brass ina replica about 6 weeks now and with 4x's through the chamber of these 50 pieces they are working fine. They are just a shade shorter that origonals but that is moot as they are more than long enough for the 350 grainer my rifle likes the best.

Robert looking at the brass prices on Grafs 12$ difference between the Jamison brass and unformed Hornady 458 is not that bad, unless you don't count your time in forming the cases, and figuring at least 1 case out of every 20 or so getting smushed in the forming process....
But the great thing is cartridges like the 44-77 and 90 and quite a few others that really can't be handily formed from something else will be available over the counter again...

Very good news! I'm a fan of the .22-3000 Lovell, which requires the .25-20 Single Shot case for forming. Others sell brass that's the right shape, but only Jamison's brass had the strength and ductility to make first-class cases for this high-pressure cartridge. If this new enterprise goes well, I can put my tools for forming the .25-20SS from .223 back in the closet. *(sighs with relief)*

I agree, they make the best 25/20SS brass. I have lots of G&H and I still like theirs better.

I'm not waiting for .25-20SS (yet?), but I have other obsolete calibers I'm ready to buy their brass for. Stocked up on .577 and .577-450 when they went belly up.

I've been using Bertram for my 43 Mauser,
Will Jamison be running 43 brass do we know :?:

Either way it's good to have another "speciality brass" manufacturer back in the swing of things again..

Since I`m finally retired now I have the time to do the chores of making my Taylor brass from basic mag. brass. Have done 150 so far and am working on another box of 50 now, haven`t lost a case yet with the procedure I developed for first shortening with a plumbers confined space tube cutter then run thru my Taylor size die then final trim to correct length and final deburring and case prep.Robert

They offered it before, but if they don't this time just go with the 44-77. I know they'll be offering that up.

this is really great news, especially since Rocky Mtn got sold and the new owners are not saying where they are moving to or when/if they will reopen.

I just talked to the new owner of RMC. They are almost ready to start production. I hope.

calaloo,

got any contact information for them? I need brass for my 10-bore double rifle, and RMC was supposed to be making it when he sold out.

This is excellent to hear. I have an old 2R Lovell that needs to be put back in service.
Why would anyone want to shoot a modern cartridge?
Anyone can do that.

This is truly good news. I need some more of their excellent 45-75 brass.
I will be sure to lay in a lifetime supply this time and not count on this supply line to continue (everytime I find something I can't live without, they stop making it).

I know what you mean. I don't need anymore 44-77's but the minute I find out they've got them ready to ship I'm laying in another 150-200.. Just to be sure..
