installing redfield jr base

[I]stalled a jr base and torquing the screws (30 in lbs) the one screw bottom 4 threads stripped, the barrel threads look OK. the other 2 screws are fine..mister c

Brownells sells an oversized tap for such happenings like that. Think you have to drill then use the tap. 6x48 threads?. Frank

Don't quite remember about having to redrill and then retap for the screw. But I definitely remember seeing it in the latest Brownell's catalog which I have somehow misplaced. Worth a check on their website. Frank
