Is anybody aware of any manufacture that makes a gas checked base mold for 40 cal in their regular production without going the costly custom route?? All suggestions, speculation or even good guesses welcome and appreciated.

Although I haven't seen gas check molds in 40, I have seen plain base check makers where the check is made from soda can material. I haven't used them in .40 yet, but I do have plain base check makers in .35 and .45. The Ckeckmakers are from Pat Marlins, a vendor on this site. Another member here is going to send me some checks in .40 when his check maker arrives. Come to think of it, I don't think I've seen .40 checks but I haven't really looked. Frank

Blammer has some or at least he did and likely still does as of a few days ago. THX for the responses.

I got some of the Sage Outdoors ( sagesoutdoors.com ) .40 PB checks - nice product !!
I don't think they are technically PB checks - They list the shank size the check fits so you can mix and match - I think it was a .44 check that fit a .40 shank

Had to have something to play with till the PB .40 checkmaker comes ! lol

Keepin' fingers crossed Frank for the delivery of the .40 !!!

Technically, I think PB checks are "thing" of this website only.

Measure the outside of your boolit then look for a check that has the same inside size.
I made a free check111 to make 45LC checks they are the perfect size PB for my 44 boolits.
There is a list of boolit shank sizes for various checks on this site.
Look for the Check list you may find a perfect fit.
PB checks are typically thinner though.

I make .41 Pistol checks out of the .008 litho plate for the 10mm guys. The swaging guys also use them for cups or 1/2 jackets. The thinner aluminum tears they tell me.
