Movie fights!

The wife and I were watching John Wayne's "McLintoc" the other night, and she allowed that the fight scene at the clay slide was her favorite movie fight scene of all time. I like that one as well, but when it came to the Dukes fight scenes, I just gotta go with Duke and Victor McGlocklin, in "The Quiet Man".

Now there are lots and lots of fight scenes in lots of movies, and I would be interested in hearing the opinion of others?

The Duke also did many of his own stunts. And, Maureen O'Hara, in spite the fact that she was still recovering from recent stomach surgery, did many of her own stunts in the movie.

Victor McLaglen's (The Quiet Man) son Andrew, directed McLintock and many other movies.

1Shirt, I have to agree with your opinion of the fight in "The Quiet Man". There was a pretty good one in "Donovan's Reef" also. I also have to mention Charlton Heston and Gregory Peck in "The Big Country".

The best pie fight ever is in the great race.
The opening of Butch Cassiday and the Sundance Kid is always worth a watch.

'The Quiet Man', featuring John Wayne and Victor McLaglen is unquestionably the best fist fight ever. 'McClintock' is first runner up.

The final scene in 'Alien' between Sigorney Weaver and the Creature is pretty good, but I'm not sure it qualifies as a 'fist fight'.

IMHO, one of the most realistic movie fight's I've seen is Jennifer Gardner in the "Kingdom."

the opening of crouching tiger hidden dragon between the two women.
the best gun fight had to be either in trinity where no one got shot but one guy got slapped a lot.[funniest ever]
or the one between wesley snipes and sylvester stallone in that show with sandra bernhardt where stallone gets frozen or whatever and comes back 100 years later. demolition man or judge dredd.

The best "reality" fight scene I like is 3 punks caught on a gas station yard camera trying to carjack an armed off duty LEO with knives against his carry piece. Of the 3 punks 2 lost the fight and the 3rd dropped his blade and ran. "Quiet man" definately for the Duke.Robert

My favorite fight scene was the opening scene in the movie "Way of the Gun" - it's a fight outside a bar. It isn't particularly realistic or good, I just found it entertaining.

Also, for gunfighting/battle scenes see the battles in the movie "Flowers of War". It is the Chinese defense of Nanking from the invading Japanese. Very good battle scenes.
