I can't get Lee 113 gr soupcans to feed from the magazine in my '94 30-30. The OAL is pretty short, as it contacts the lands seated fairly short. ANy ideas?
Thanks Tom

Hi tommag,

I have used that boolit in an early and an angle eject M94 and used 2.315" as an overall length but know it may not work in your particular rifle.

Due to the difefrence in the way cartridges feed from the Winchester vs the Marlin, too short rounds don't feed well, or sometimes not at all from the M94 Winchester. Short rounds seem to slip right thought though with the Marlin. It's in the way the cartridge lifter is designed. I just shoot my 94 as a single shot and don't worry about it anymore.

OAL of 2.348" works well in three different W94's, prewar, 50's, and an AE. YMMV.

I had hoped to use the soup-can as a coyote/rabbit/ small game round when out knocking around the back 40. I guess the 170 gr will do as well. I'll save the 113 for single-shot plinking. Thanks for your responses.

You might want to try a Lee 150 gr. in 2-cavity for a light/medium plinker. I know that soup-can is about borderline feeding in some guns so you must have one of those. The Lee 150 gr flat-nose has a bit more curve to it and less flat spot.
