I’ll give credit where credit is due, thanks Bullshop! http://castboolits.gunloads.com/images/icons/icon14.gif
Bullshop mentioned Castner’s Cutthroats, a really interesting bunch of World War Two Alaskan U.S. Army Scouts who were intrumental in kicking the Japanese Army out of the Aleutian Islands of Alaska but never had a big John Wayne-Gary Cooper-Gregory Peck-Joel McCrea-Walter Brennan movie made about them but should have. Of course don’t hold your breath waiting for Michael Moore to do it! Here is a quick read about them that was written in probably 1944. If you don't already have it, you will need the djvu plug in file opener that is available for free at:
http://www.lizardtech.com/download/dl_download.php?detail=doc_djvu_plugin&platform=win
It took about 20 minutes for the djvu plug in application to download through my old slow dial up modem connection. The djvu files are like Adobe Acrobat files but the Adobe reader won’t open them.
The address below is for the original 1944 newspaper article on Castner’s Cutthroats:
