Two questions: first, how should you determine the raw diameter of the discs? Second: I understand it is possible to GC a PB boolit. Would you use a thinner material for this application? Thanks, Goat

You would take the bottom of the bullet width plus side walls. The industry standard is .010 tall. You can go taller on a plain base. I have noticed you start getting a jagged edge when you get taller than .097. The thinner materials work better .004 up to .0092 Aluminum. Comments I have read the .004 material will shread on the larger calibers. Thats my 2 cents worth.

I'm using soda can material for plain base gas checks on .452 boolits without a problem, .358 as well for that matter. Checkmaker dies from Pat Marlins (a vendor on this site) are the bee's knees! Frank
