I'm looking for one double cavity mold that would work well in my Remington R1 and my Ruger Blackhawk in .45 Colt. Loads would be modest charges of Unique. I was thinking about the 200 grainer. Any suggestions?

I have used the LEE 230g Truncated Cone in my .45acp's and 45 Colt.
They shoot low in my Single Action as it has fixed sights regulated for the 255g.
Groups are as good as any I've tried in both calibres

When I asked about the 200 grain RF in my 1911 some said they did not care for it. I had problems with it due to a reloading problem but others said they did not care for it for the 1911. I would get a 230 grain which would be perfect for the 1911 and not that bad for the 45 Colt either. My next mould is going to be a 230 grain bullet.

No experance in the other.

Swapman,
I shoot both the Lee 452-200-RF and the Lee 452-255-RF in my 1911's and my Ruger Bisley/Vaquero (45 Colt and 45 ACP). So far in my guns the 255 grainer shoots better groups.
I just finished up working on a guys S&W 625 and the best load I tried was some of the Lee 452-200-RF in front of 3.6 gr. of Bullseye.
Good luck, jmsj

i use a 225 rnfp as my go to allround 45 boolit.
it's got a good flat point, enough round on the nose to feed well in the acp and in the leverguns, a crimp groove for the colt and ar cases, and enough lube groove for the longer bbl's.

I have shot several thousand rounds of the Lee 452-200-SWC through 1911's and a Ruger P97 and have been very happy. Accurate with nice clean holes.

I use both Lees 230 gr round nose and the 160gr flat nose. Both of these feed well in my single action, Marlin lever gun, sons 1911, and a Marlin camp 45. The only thing about the 160 is with the lightest loads I get blow back and have to clean the actions of carbon. with med to full house loads I don't get that. DR

I've ran both the Lee 200SWC and the 230TC in the .45ACP quite a bit (at least for me) and played with them in my Bisley (.45 Colt) just a little.
They both worked GREAT in the Kimber and both show mucho promise in the Bisley.

I like the lee 452-255 RF. I shoot in my 1911 and Colt. I like it a lot.

My .45 ACP and Ruger BH both like the 200 RNFP from Lee. In fact, my Taurus PT 145 likes it the best of any other boolits I've tried, I just need to keep the OAL to about 1.20 - 1.21.

Aren't the heavy (255 grain) bullets hard on the 1911s?

18.5lb. variable rate spring and a shock buff gives very easy recoil w/ 6gr. Unique @ 1.210" oal

What Potsy said. The Lee 200 grain SWC/H&G #68 clone makes a gentle, friendly load in the 45 Colt that is accurate and can be fired all day. Subjectively, it's a lot like shooting wadcutter 38 Specials to me. They'll hit a little lower than the 250s do, though.
