Have some of this metal also, is there any value for this in boolit making? How would one go about having this tested?

Some of the babbitt makes great bullet alloys. If there isn't any ID or name stamped on it ,the only real way to get a definative analisis of it would be to send a chunk to Rotometals (or a local junkyard if they have spectro gun). It costs about $60 to have Rotometals do it. Other than that is it still cast in its original shape? That can sometimes give a possibility.

No value, just send it to me and I'll properly dispose of it! I'll even cover the postage....

you have to watch the babbits some are great and are mostly tin some are low tin.
some have nickel and some copper etc....
the trick is knowing what's in them.
if i ain't sure i use them quite sparingly and just bump the alloy with them.
1% nickle/kirksite/calcite in an alloy will make for an unhappy day

Curious how calcite can be in this metal.

You could try to find a local scrap dealer. Around here they use hand held units that gives a readout of the alloy.

Some years age I used babbit 1 lb + 20 lb clean WW's to make hard .44's. They shot great through a 6" revolver and a 20" barrel rifle.
