What would be a good ballpark price to pay for a used 629-4 with a 6" bbl (no optics), assuming it is in very good condition?

I may be in a good position to get one, but want to make sure its a good deal.

Hereabouts you are looking at 900+ new, 700-750 used for a 6"629.

In the Spokane area you are looking at $650 max for a used 629 6" bbl.

The 33rd Edition of the Blue Book of Gun Values shows $525 for a 95% gun, $600 for a 98% gun, and $725 for a 100% gun. If it's in really good shape, then I'd say a price between $500-$600 would be fair. If you can get it for less than that, jump on it!

Hope this helps.

I'd say $550-$600 around here. The -4 is a very desirable model and probably should go for more than that, but most people don't know the difference.

In Minnesota a -4 with 6" bbl in very good condition with S&W wood grips will sell for over $600...probably in the $700 to 800 range.

If it were a 4" I'd buy it in a heartbeat for $650 or less.

Thanks everyone for the advice. The asking price was a little on the high side, so I'll see if I can get him down a little.
