What tool do you use to reload berdan primers.....My RCBS RockChucker the primer cup is not big enough to allow for seating, it will work abit, but I end-up seating them in alittle crooked and its just a PITA at this time.....Thank you....

You will probaly need to make a new anvil with a small recess to hold the primer, [no spring loaded ring]. Firstcheck with the press mfg they may have one but I have not seen any listed in the parts lists. Or a modifacation of the old Lee hand loader tool, Good luck with the project.

Maybe you could flare the primer cup so that berdan primers would fit.
I wouldn't try it unless I had a spare.
Hitting it with a ball bearing 3/8" dia or over may work.

Anybody with a lathe should be able to turn a custom one in no time. Just boring out the spring loaded sleeve enough to allow the primer to drop in would probably be enough. A little sloppy, sure, but the primers should seat flat then. Come to think of it, it might be easier to modify a Lee handheld priming tool. I don't know, just an idea that popped into my head.
I once stumbled onto a huge stash of RWS LR Berdan primers for cheap, and my dad turned me a custom anvil setup for the RCBS press I was using back then. It was a much bigger PIA getting the old ones out than putting new ones in. I worked with an old Lachmiller (now RCBS) tool but got frustrated with breaking those little pointy digger-outers (technical term!) and also damaging the primer pocket anvils so I switched to the hydraulic method and life got easier (if not messier).

I have Berdan primed Snider brass. I use a RCBS ram prime unit with a piece of Delrin rod turned to the diameter of the primer. To deprime I use a very small center punch(very sharp) to put a hole in the primer and then just lever it out.
The brass is early CBC 28 ga. formed to 577 Snider. I bought a 1M primers at the same time I got the brass.

I do it like the video that WILCO posted but I use the RCBS hand priming tool. I also drilled and tapped the handle of the tool for a set screw, put a set screw and jam nut on it and adjusted it so I set each primer to the same depth.
