I just recently found a Rugar 41 Mag Blackhawk, that my mother purchased for me many years ago, in the back of my gun safe. I don't know why, but I never loaded 41's. While placing a recent order for supplies, I made a quick decision and picked up the Lee 410-195-SWC mold. Now, I have checked the references I have and there is no load data for this boolit. I never understood why the Lee manual doesn't have load data for many of their own molds. Anyway, I am thinking about going with 9.2gr of Unique. Any suggestions would be appreciated.:?:

I've been using a Lyman 215 grain and 14.2 grains of 2400. This has been a pretty accurate everyday load. I had one load for 220 grain keiths, 15.7 grains of 2400. It's a full house hunting load.

If you can load the 41 magnum with 14.0 through 15.7 grains of 2400, then it shoots pretty good in any slot. It's a real interesting caliber. I'm sorry I don't have any loads for the 195, just haven't bought one yet.

Good Luck,
Ron

I know I have data for the 195gr somewhere. I'll get it to ya.

I've been shooting a 210grSWC it weighs 215 with my alloy with aa#9 and large pistol primers.

your starting load with Unique should be good to go. I use just about the same in my Ruger SBH Hunter in 41 mag with a 220gr boolit.
IIRC the Lee is a plain base so if you have some leading or not accurate try inverting a gas check in the case mouth and push it in when seating the boolit.

Yes, the Unique load should do quite well

I use that same bullet in a 6 1/2 inch Blackhawk.
I use 9.3 grains of unique.
I have plenty of power.....and good accuracy!
I have used this load for over 30 years.

Take care

I made a quick decision and picked up the Lee 410-195-SWC mold.

I also use that bullet in my .41 BH w/7 1/2" barrel. I use 9 gr Unique for a good and accurate "medium" load which runs at 1200 fps out of my BH Bisley.

I also use 5.5 gr of Bullseye for a very pleasant plinking/small game load.

I use the RCBS 41-210-SWC for "magnum" level loads.

Lyman's cast bullet handbook 4th edition shows the lee #410-195 using Unique at 9.0-10.1 grains.
Hope this helps.
