I might have found a good deal on craigslist

I posted a wanted ad for lead on Craigslist today got a reply that looks like a good deal. The guy said he works in a plating shop and has 10 2inch by 36inch lead rods for 80 cents a pound. Am I right to assume that they are pure for the plating? Also is that as good of a price as I think it is.


Another guy just offered me 82 pounds of wheel weight melted in a paint can for 20 bucks, I almost wonder if its going to me worth the extra work but who knows.

The lead rod deal isn't bad. A buck a pound for pure(er) lead is about right. That buck usually includes shipping, if that's involved - so.....
The wheel weights, for 25 cents a pound IS a good deal. Only thing is - is it all WW or is there some other junk (zinc) in the mix ?? Your call. enjoy Mike

No shiping its all local. The wheel weights at least sound like all lead. The guy said that that they were in his basement when he got the house 30 years ago.
