Not sure if anyone has asked this one yet but---
Has anyone taken a regular half jacket, say a 38 caliber and swaged it down to a 30 or 25 caliber for making jacketed bullets. No doubt it would require trimming but with the Harbor Freight chop saw that is no problem.
What would the interior shaping of the dies be? Could it be done in one step?
Seems like there are lots of those half jackets out there and sometimes they can be had reasonable, might be a good resource.

:Bright idea:

I have not done it but doing it is no problem just like a derim die all is required is a draw die and a draw punch. then trim off the end to length.

I reduce .45 half jackets to .44 and to .357. i bought hardened drill bushings and made new ram for my Lee press. I should have a posting on this forum from year or 2 ago showing his setup.

I found it!
