I have seen many for sale online going for $100+. This one has rings and shows some wear but glass looks fine. Whats a fair value ?

Just depends on what you want. I agree with 1Shirt--go look. I paid $100 on a Ken benefit by geezer56 for a K4. Of course, that served 2 purposes for me. Maybe I paid too much or maybe not. My first K4 was made in 1955--it came on my Dad's Model 70 featherweight. I still have both. Weaver made a great scope back in the day. Also, if need be, there are people who will work on them and either just fix it--go completely through it and replace parts, or rebuild it to new appearance and quality. Also, there is a thread on p. 2 of Our Town titled Weaver Scope Repair by Judge 27.

Round here the posts crosshaiirs go for a little more and I usually buy at 60-70 and sell 70-80.

IMO the old El Paso K series Weaver were just about perfect scopes. All American, good FOV, tough, not too expensive, bright enough for everything I ever needed them for. I have a mess of them and I cherish them.

That particular scope I'd likely pay $75.00 for, less if I could, but I wouldn't feel hurt at $75.00.

Thanks for the opinions. $75 will not buy you much of a scope now days so this is a keeper.

I love the old Weaver scopes. I would have guessed $40 to 50, but it looks like they go for a bit more now. I have several I've picked up cheap over the years. They are good scopes, hard to go wrong.

My first Weaver was one of the straight tube .22 scopes that came on a Mossberg 151 my Grandpa gave me when I was a teenager (still have it, of course). My Grandpa always said he liked it because it was made locally (he grew up near El Paso). My last Weaver scope came on another Mossberg I bought last week: an old K6-1 on a Mossberg 800. It's not as clear as it could be and has a clunk inside. I'm tempted to take try to take it apart and see if it's something I can fix.

Iron Sight, Inc. in Tulsa, Ok will refurbish it for $95. Only problem is that it will take about a year with their current workload.

New Weavers go for around $125 +/-. Tough scopes and I like the fixed powers. 4x or 6x.

i have one just like that set up on my mini14. it works great on that rifle with those crosshairs. i also have a k 10 on my heavy brno .22.

i like some others think the old steeltube el paso weavers were the best scopes made. they are the only scopes other then expensive target models that repeat when you change the sight settings.
