I wouldn't pay that but I can get my own for free. This isn't something we can answer for you. What else can you get at that price? How much lead do you have on hand? Are ou set up to smelt? What other sources do you have at hand?

Too many factors to be considered. In the end, follow your gut.

60 bucks max is my 2 cents worth. I have bought range lead and lost about 50%. YMMV

Very close to spot price.
He is selling scrap, scrappers here pay 15 cents lb. and sell at 50 cents.
If this pirate is the only source you have, then take it.
I get range scrap for 20 cents a lb but have to do the trap cleaning for that price.
Don't mind paying a little extra to support the club.

The value of any particular alloy offering is highly dependent on your current inventory and your prospects for alternate sources.

This is not a "good deal." It is however, a deal. Do you need it?

thanks for the response gentlemen .... already have a small stash .. of course everyone has a different opinion of "I have enough" and some of us ... never !
Just been really busy with work and have had no time to scrounge the last few months ..... hope to have some time this winter .

Twice last week I went to my range about 8 hrs. total. I got about 1/2 of a 5 gal bucket. No rocks but lots of jackets. So from my exp. that is a good deal.
Items not calculated. Wire screening, Time making sifting box, Gas to and from range, I already have to repair my sifter (minimal but there)
If you can recycle the jackets. The initial price would be reduced.

Wow, that is a horrible return for berm mining. I was at the range for 2 1/2 ours last Friday with my daughter. We shot well over 300 rounds of handgun, killed a few bowling pins, and brought home 41 pounds of range scrap.

I must be incredibly lucky then - in 20 minutes at my range I can get about 150 lbs or so of range scrap. Working there part-time sure helps - nobody else is allowed to do that.

After a hard gully washing rain you can pick up 60# in 30/40 min. at our range, no digging involved. If you want to dig wait till almost sundown and there are a few places that are almost solid lead. You can't get your shovel into it so I take a grubbing hoe, after I dig I have to dress the berm down to look better than I started, but you are limited to how much strength you have (which is not much anymore) too many birthdays.
