I got my tax return so have been getting a little of this and alot of that etc...

I decided to go for a 2-cavity Lee 8mm 175 grainer and am glad I did. It's a great mold already with uniformity between cavities down to within 1/2 grain. the bases are flat and nice and grooves are all filled out. Hornady Gaschecks fit like a dream and the diameters of both are .327". My single cavity throws them out at .324" After doing those 1 at a time, it is amazing how fast 100 is to do. I just was going to try it out a little. I am looking forward to trying it out in my Yugo as soon as I get it cleaned up & put back together.

Later...OK, I'm back from sizing some of these thru a new .325" sizer I just got this week and they are sizing down alright. I was wondering if my caliper reading went south but now am sure of the size of the mold. It's a big one!

My single cavity throws them just right for the Turk Mauser and am hoping this one does the slightly larger M24 I just picked up last week.

I have the Lee single cavity 8mm mold you mentioned and also have to say that with all the custom 8mm molds (well, 3) I've got, I really haven't beaten it for accuracy out of any 'normal' gun- not one with a fat 8mm bore. Perhaps I'll get one of the double cavity jobs too....

..............DUe to the fairly universal good results people have had with the design, they'd run a 6 cavity verson of the same slug, only adding a mild FN for hunting. It's as good a shooter as the original. Feeds just fine, too.

A Lee sixholer sounds like a capital idea. Is anybody doing that? No, I am not raising my hand!

Hi Blammer,

I am using Lars Carnauba Red and some Felix lube I made up along with some of them lubed with LLA. I am only shooting them with 17.5 gr. 2400 so far and haven't noticed any big difference in performance.

What, not one more? Dutch ran a extremely good consistent shooter with the 8mm GB he did. I wish he would do it again.

Great cast boolits from the Lee! After sizing to .323 and rolling in alox lube I shoot sub MOA @ a hundred yards with 18 grains of 2400. 5 five shot groups under 1" with the best a .73
I am fast closing in on a .50
