About 18 months ago I snatched up a pristine recent production (pre-Rem) 336 in 35 Rem. Now her twin sister is sitting in the rack and no one seems to be giving her a second look. Would you?

Yup! I'd sight one in for my plinking load.(Ranchdog 190 over 10 grains of Red Dot) and one in for my hunting load.(Ranch Dog 190 over 38 grains of H335) That way I wouldn't have to mess with the sights when I wanted to practice or plink.

Of course, find out which one shoots better for the sake of science.

Always wondering why 35 isn't more popular down here with all the hogs. Mine shoots great, the 45-70 not so much fun.

Where in TX is the gun please?

Thanks.

Now, RD, you might need some help looking it over, so tell me when you go and i'll meet you there. I passed a 35 Marlin in baytown, drilled waffle top that was not taken care of for $350, if memory serves. Bore was dirty and I did not have a cleaning kit. It was gone a week later. This was 4 years ago & I haven't seen another 35 Rem in Baytown.
Yes, they are uncommon here. I did pick up the 1895SS that I saw. But then it was cheaper & looked a whole lot better.
Do we have pictures yet?

I'm with DanWalker, but my plinking load is a 158 grain pistol SWC, cast hard at .3585, (Ive got Microgrooves), with an 1750 fps charge of 5744. Can't have too many .35 Rems, IMHO, and especially true if they're Marlins. Buy it.

Guess I'll be a little late getting home tomorrow night. Kinda hope someone else saw it and snatched it up. Not sure how many more leverguns my safe can swalllow up. I last saw it two weeks ago and it had been there for a couple of weeks already. The one in my safe was the first I'd seen in quite some time, nicest one I've ever seen. Sometimes I'm lucky like that.
