Tips to clean ammo boxes?

I have some used ammo boxes that I would like to clean up if possible. Tried soaking in soapy water, no luck. Anyone have any tips on cleaning these?

Ultrasonic cleaner will get 'em cleaned!

Try running them thru a dishwashing cycle, or maybe put them in with your clothes when you do your washing with hot water, just don't put them in the dryer.

I run mine through the dish washer on the cycle that does not add heat for drying.

Soak it in Dawn dish soap, then spray with a powerwasher at close range.

Top rack of the dishwasher worked for me.

soak in kerosene over night then the Dawn NOT gasoline

I just buy new.

but If I WERE to try to clean them, I'd toss them in the diswasher first.
