1)learning curve? Oh Yes.. talking to the original maker of these mold the other day, he even said they were hard to pour. "Rampart of chi town" was the name of the company.
2)Steve kaplan of hallmark metals gave tips to me, you can see in photo below.
3) the recipe now includes bismuth that can be bought on ebay and also "penland.org" told me to use bismuth too!
4)mr steve caplan had me add two runners to get flow out to the wingtips, "U C in photo below" and then add "gasing" vent holes, (4 lil' ones) you can see at top of mold. Perhaps this old mold can be salvaged thanks to hallmark metals.
