Mayhaw,

The old 1939 Cramer catalog just says, "358M--158Magnum". My guess by the way it looks, it's a Keith type meant for 357Magnum. Certainly OK for .38 Special too.How many do you want to buy? They list them at $6.00@ for 2 cavity, & $7.50 for 3 cavity...add 3% sales tax too if you live in Kalifornia....geo

Mayhaw2:

Go to the "CASTPICS" link at the bottom of the page and search "Research and Data" for the "Cramer Catalog". It has photos of all of the old Cramer moulds.

Next to a Walt Melander NEI or H+G, I think Cramer makes about the nicest production moulds. Surely as good as a LBT, although not so hi-tech, better than the RCBS that followed them. Of course if I end up with a dog someday I'll have to eat my words.

I agree with Tpr. Bret about the quality of Cramer moulds. I own several and each one is a delight to use.

The Cramer #4 is one of my very favorite moulds of any origin. :) :)

Quite right! My mistake. Ohaus became RCBS. I stand corrected.

I thought Omark owned RCBS? Ohaus makes scales still today.

Closer this time,Tpr.Bret: Rcbs WAS part of Omark, then some miniConglomerate, then went with all the Gun related stuff to the current outfit, who as far as I know, has only sold off the var.Scope brands so far(to the Meade people)..Ohaus not a part of any of these, but did sell mould business to Omark, years ago..Not sure whether Lachmiller went to Ohaus first,or direct to Omark... GLL (and any others with Cramer moulds):

Do you have any "gang" Cramer moulds? If so, how are the handles on them?

I have a couple and am losing the handles (the wood part) on both.

Looking for suggestions on "easy" replacements without trashing the mould.

Thanks.

I don't care who owned whom anymore! I'll buy any mould I can find.

GSM:

Sorry but all of my Cramer moulds are 2 or 3 cavity variety.

Perhaps someone with a woodworking lathe could turn you some matching handles. I frequently turn replacements for my own damaged handles.
