Have any of you guys shot 45 ACP Cast bullets that measure .454"?

My mould was supposed to throw .452" bullets.
My alloy is straight Wheel weights, air cooled.

I was hoping to shoot them just tumble lubed and non sized.

What is your thoughts?

Lee moulds are designed to cast to nominal diameter with a 10-1 lead tin alloy. Probaly would be a bit smaller with that alloy. Just thought I'd mention that before someone thinks it's defective, suggests you send it back and bad mouths Lee moulds in general.......

I like to shoot .454 size cast in my S&W M1917.

try running your mold blocks hotter, I have the same mold and the hotter I run the mold blocks the less sizing the boolits need.

Make sure the blocks are closing completely. Look for any burrs or flashing around the locating pins and alignment troughs.

^^^ This.

I check mine every time I close it to make sure it is fully closed. That said...load some up and give 'em a try. If they will chamber you are probably good to go. My sizer gets less use as time goes on.
